Announcing a New Series from NYU Press

Alternative Criminology

Jeff Ferrell, Series Editor

The Alternative Criminology series addresses and encourages the ongoing development of new criminological perspectives that challenge conventional understandings of crime, justice, and social control. The series is founded on an eclectic, cutting-edge sensibility that seeks to broaden mainstream criminological thinking.

The series intends to produce short, smart, sharply crafted books defined by the precision and texture of their writing and the concision and clarity of their arguments. The books in the series are designed for a criminological audience but also for scholars in other disciplines and for a more general audience. In addition, the series aims to encourage the exploration of new issues within the discipline and, ultimately, to promote the imaginative reconstruction of the criminological enterprise.
